Our Philosophy
The designers behind CG arte are Catherine Marion and Amy Glaswand. Catherine and Amy met as jewelry design students at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). It was there they realized their shared design philosophy and, by combining their varied talents, began to forge a collaboration that would ultimately become CG arte. As reflected in their designs, Catherine and Amy are committed to creating jewelry that is contemporary and visually striking and that combines timeless elegance with modern style. They find inspiration everywhere-from ancient spiritual icons to classic architectural elements, modern design and their stylized interpretations taken from nature. Catherine and Amy each have a keen eye for beauty and are regularly drawn to strong images that capture their clean design aesthetic and can translate artistically into their jewelry collection. The CG arte line, entirely handmade in New York, is known for offering the highest quality in fine jewelry, gold craftsmanship and exquisite precious and semiprecious gemstones. Catherine and Amy devote great attention to the fine details and workmanship of each piece in the CG arte line and each gemstone is personally selected by them. Versatility is the primary focus of CG arte's current collection. Each of the charms and/or pendants can be worn on any of the coordinating chains or bracelets in the collection. These sophisticated charms and pendants can also be worn as dangles or drops from the earrings in the collection.While each piece of jewelry in the current collection can stand alone, individual pieces can also work together, can be layered or can be mixed.
Biographies
Catherine has a background as a corporate lawyer and is a skilled jewelry designer with a love for colored gemstones. Amy’s background stems from the fine arts. She has worked as a textile designer for major fashion houses and as a costume designer for film and television productions.
